An existing site may have good content and useful URLs even when its typography, spacing, and navigation need work.
What to Check
- Identify reusable design patterns
- Correct typography and spacing systematically
- Test the updated system across key pages
What the Results Mean
Audit repeated components first. Improving a shared header, card, or type scale can repair many pages without replacing the whole site.
Find the Repeated Visual Problem
Before changing colors or fonts, compare the header, page width, heading scale, card spacing, and buttons across several pages. A site can feel inconsistent because the same component has different margins or widths. Record the strongest existing patterns so the repair builds on the brand rather than erasing it.
Correct the System and Test Exceptions
Set a small group of container widths, type sizes, and spacing values, then apply them to repeated components. Inspect long titles, short titles, forms, and mobile menus. A clean homepage is not enough if the service pages still overflow or place calls to action differently.
Is a Redesign Required?
Not when the main issue is inconsistent implementation. A focused cleanup can keep the design people already recognize.
